Description
A staple in 19th century indoor plumbing . This is a real nice example of a survivor in polychrome white paint , panel doors and a nice manageable size. Because they were used for water not many survived . Original zinc well is still in place. Before homes had indoor plumbing, dry sinks gave housewives a place to wash dishes or clean vegetables. Though not connected to a water supply, dry sinks were an improvement over buckets or basins placed on a bench or the floor. Some dry sinks had soapstone or zinc linings.
