Custom table with hand made iron base with salvaged rare Vitrolite glass top. Found in Vancouvers oldest grocery store . Vitrolite was a modern alternative to marble. Thes tops were for a cafe on Main Street in the 30’s closed down during the war. Structural pigmented glass, known as Vitrolite and by other trade names, was an architectural darling of the 1920s and '30s. Storefronts and home interiors were tiled with it, giving them the sexy, shiny, streamlined look so popular in Art Deco and Art Moderne styles
