Description

 Not my usual item however,  i recently stumbled on this carving in a prominent collection in Vancouver. The piece was acquired in Asia in the 1990's. After reviewing with colleagues, we determined it to be C 1930-50 .

The bust is carved wood with excellent painted surface showing age and age cracked finish. No doubt an authenticity just cannot really attribute it to a region or style. 

For now it is a great piece of folk art.
