Description
19H” x 22W” x 12D”
Heavy duty cast iron industrial sewing machine by the Singer Sewing Machine Co. This hand crank, self-contained machine is from circa 1880 and has its original thread shuttle.
The Singer brand is synonymous with high quality sewing machines. The company was founded by Isaac Singer in 1867 in Glasgow, Scotland, but quickly grew to include factories in locations around the globe. During World War 2, the company primarily produced guns and bullets, along with the occasional sewing machine. The company was the first to create treadle powered, belt powered, and eventually electricity powered machines.
